Clifford Wesley "Tacks" Latimer (

1936 in
Loveland) was a professional
baseball player who played
catcher from
1898–1902.
After his playing career ended Latimer became a
police officer with the
Pennsylvania
Railroad. In 1924 he was involved in a dispute with another
police officer and shot him four times in the back. Latimer was
found guilty of second degree murder and sentenced to life
imprisonment.
